Bactrim (Sulfamethoxazole/Trimethoprim)

Bactrim is a combined antibacterial medicine used at treating of ear infections, acute exacerbations of chronic bronchitis, urinary tract infections.

Take Bactrim according to the prescriptions of your doctor

• Bactrim is taken orally with or without food.
• For best result take Bactrim every day at the same time.
• Wash down Bactrim with full glass of water. Pass a complete treatment course with Bactrim in order to cure the desease completely. Do not stop treatment even if you felt better in some days.

Bactrim represents a combination of antibiotics sulfamethoxazole and trimethoprim, which attack the bacteria, caused the disease, and they are destroying them.

If you missed regular intake of Bactrim, take it as there will be possible. If this time has coincided with your planned intake - skip it and continue to take it as usual.

Bactrim should be stored at 77 degrees F (25 degrees). Keep it in protected from high temperature, humidity and light place.

Bactrim is contraindicative if:

• you are hypersensitive to Bactrim's components or to alike drugs;
• you had allergic responses on other sulfonamide drugs (glipizide, hydrochlorothiazide);
• you are taking dofetilide;
• you have anaemia caused by low folate level in the blood;
• you are breast-feeding or at 38 week of pregnancy;
• also it is forbidden to children under 2 months.

• Bactrim can raise risk of sunblisters. Don't stay long under the sun, under ultra-violet lamps and sun decks. Use a sun-protection cream.

• Be sure to go through a full course of treatment with Bactrim as far as the drug may not cure the illness completely.
• Bactrim is not an antiviral medicine so it cannot cure common cold.
